De-escalation, Management and Intervention (DMI)
Training in how to manage challenging and complex behavior and helping you to put dignity at the heart of your care.
DMI is a holistic approach that looks at risk assessing and putting care plans in place to allow for the earliest possible non-physical interventions to take place as well as equipping staff with the skills needed to deal with situations where a physical intervention might be needed.
Our training is delivered by professional trainers with clinical backgrounds and meets all of the relevant guidance provided by CQC, NICE, Mental Health Act Code of Practice, Department of Health, Skills for Care and more.Based at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust we work with health, social care and public sector organisations from across the region to provide high quality, NHS and Social Care developed training that puts the patient and their dignity at the heart of care.
We specialise in training that gives staff confidence when working with patients who may be challenging or complex and where physical interventions may be needed to deliver care.
Unlike other training we don’t just focus on the physical interventions in isolation. Our approach is based on giving delegates a greater awareness of the triggers that lead to behaviour that challenges services, how to approach risk assessing situations and putting care plans in place to allow for the earliest possible non-physical interventions to take place.
When physical interventions do need to take place, our practical scenario based training draws upon years of experience to role play real life situations and examples with delegates. Our training is:
